July 15-16 — KILLINGTON — Killington Pico Area Association announces the return of the Killington Wine Festival! The Killington Wine Festival has become a signature event for the Killington region each July. The Killington Pico Area Association continues the tradition of inviting wine lovers to Killington to enjoy new wines with the Green Mountains of Vermont as a scenic backdrop. Throughout the weekend, representatives from wineries and distributors pour wines and spirits from around the world. The event kicks off Friday evening at 4,241 feet with the Estate Wine Tasting at the Killington Resort Peak Lodge. Select wineries will be offering samples from their collections of estate and reserve wines. Representatives will be on hand to discuss each wine and educate attendees about the nuances of the fine wines being sampled. Tickets to the estate tasting are limited. The Killington Wine Trail, running concurrently, will showcase curated wines and food at participating restaurants along the Killington Access Road. On Saturday, the signature event of the festival weekend—the Grand Tasting—will be held at the Pico Mountain base area. Guests will have the opportunity to enjoy a seemingly endless variety of wines, Vermont spirits, and local artisanal foods. Admission to the event includes 25 one-ounce tastings, wine-friendly fare, and a signature wine glass. Local artisans will also be on site. Festivalgoers will enjoy live music performed by members of the Killington Music Festival. For more information, schedule of events or to buy tickets, visit killingtonwinefestival.com.
