PUBLIC WORKS: The Town of Castleton is accepting applications to fill a full-time Department of Public Works Department vacancy. Applicants must be physically able to perform strenuous manual labor in all weather conditions and must currently have a valid Class B CDL (manual transmission). Typical construction season job requirements are, but not limited to, driving dump trucks, operating roadside mowers, driving a Freightliner trash roll-off, operating a sidewalk/street sweeper, using a variety of hand and power tools, cutting down trees, and performing other duties as assigned. During the winter months duties will include unscheduled road maintenance (plowing), sidewalk snow removal, vehicle maintenance, tree removal, and performing other duties as assigned. The ability to operate a backhoe, front-end loader, grader, and a skid steer is a plus.
