Recent redistricting has given the Town of Castleton its own seat in the Vermont General Assembly. Castleton University is hosting/conducting a candidate forum for this State Assembly seat to get to know the candidates because one of them will end up representing the Town of Castleton. Both the Republican and the Democratic candidates for this seat have agreed to participate.
The event will be Thursday, October 13th at 6:30 PM in Herrick Auditorium (Rm. 146) of the Stafford Academic Center. Students will moderate the event and develop the questions for the candidate.
The University invited the public to attend. What type of candidate do you want to send to Montpelier? What is their platform? Will they represent you fairly? Will they represent and fight for your concerns? Get to know the candidates by asking some questions and evaluate their responses. Listen to the topics discussed to help determine if there is a candidate who shares in your beliefs, values, ethics, and has the same societal concerns that you may have. Please consider attending as informed voters are the best voters.
