Dear Castleton Residents,

Mother Nature is back at it creating driving hazards and potentially contributing to power outages. Some good news is that tree service companies have been out cutting trees that are near powerlines to mitigate the risk of more power outages from trees falling onto or leaning onto powerlines.

Below are a cut and paste notes from a National Weather Service winter weather advisory.

• The Winter Weather Advisory for isolated freezing drizzle will expire at 7 AM today. • A winter storm will bring widespread 4-7 inches of snow, with locally 8-10 inches especially across higher elevations beginning late tomorrow afternoon into evening.• Snowfall rates could approach 1-2 inches per hour overnight Thursday. Snowfall rates will generally be light on Friday. • Winter Weather Advisory for the upcoming storm will likely be issued later today.

Closely monitor future forecasts via www.weather.gov/btv  (or NWS Albany at www.weather.gov/aly  for Bennington and Windham Counties).
