Thomas Hacker or Tomásio’s robust energetic acrylic paintings explode off the canvas is every imaginable hue. These multilayered works ask the viewer to look into themselves to find the organization and abstract forms shifting in the pigment. Tomásio’s creative work ranges from music, poetry, sculpture and fashion. Working at Spring Lake Ranch as a peer support specialist, Tomásio helps people in the wood shop, collaborates on artistic endeavors, helps ranchers unraveling problems and plays piano for the community of Shrewsbury. Visit Tomásio: Abstractions of a Metaphorical World at the CU Bank Gallery and see his creative endeavors.

Artist Quote: “Painting is a process whereby I channel sensory information leading to internalization, retention, interpretation, analyzation and finally abstraction. I am able to then reintroduce this stimulus back onto a canvas in creative form.”
