Town of Fair Haven Notice of Ordinance Adoption

The Town of Fair Haven amended the Traffic Ordinance at a regularly scheduled meeting on November 29, 2022.

The Board made the following changes: Traffic Ordinance: Article 17 Article 17 enacts a school zone on Fourth Street.  Most notably the new School Zone:• enacts Speed limits on 4th street to 25 MPH between the hours of 7:30am to 8:30am and 2:30pm to 3:30pm when school is in session. • The article limits parking on 4th street where No Parking Signs are posted• The article was approved to promote the safety of students, faculty, parents and visitors; to promote safe routes to school and encourage students to walk or bicycle to and from school.

The ordinance shall become effective 60 days after its adoption unless a petition is signed by at least five percent of the voters of Fair Haven requesting voter approval as provided in 24 V.S.A. 1974 and is received by the Town Clerk within 45 days following the adoption.
